Acres

Acres is a local visual Markdown workspace for macOS and Windows. Arrange technical notes and documentation on an infinite canvas with cards, connections, sections and mind maps while keeping the files in your own folder. Built-in AI helps work with those notes. A bundled local MCP server lets AI agents search and edit the workspace through 29 tools, with reviewable changes and undo history. Agent setup guidance is available at https://getacres.app/for-agents/. A source-checkout CLI is also documented there. Pricing: 14-day trial, then a $59 one-time early-adopter license. After the trial, existing notes remain readable and exportable.
